Mysuru, Apr 15: Siddaramaiah, who sunk his bitter, long-time rivalry in this constituency with minister, G T Deve Gowda, undertook joint election campaign with him here on Sunday April 14. He cautioned the party workers and local leaders that victory of more number of the coalition candidates in the Lok Sabha election is a must for the survival of the state government after the election.
He conducted joint campaigning in Chamundeshwari constituency from where he was defeated by JD(S) leader, G T Deve Gowda, twice in the past. He called upon the workers to forget their political enmity with the JD(S) and work for the victory of coalition candidate here, Vijay Shankar, duly cautioning them that defeat of the coalition candidate might prove costly for both the parties and therefore prodded the JD(S) workers to cooperate with the Congress for its candidate's victory here, failing which the government's future could be in jeopardy.
Siddaramaiah urged the workers of both the parties to forget their past and unitedly work for the candidate put up by the coalition. He said that it is their duty to make sure that BJP does not come back to power in the state. "We formed coalition government to keep BJP out of power. For the government to last its full five-year term, more number of candidates jointly put up by us should win. If not, how can the coalition survive?" he wondered. G T Deve Gowda also supported this notion.
