Jamnagar, Apr 14: It seems the house of Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is divided, at least politically! Just a month after Jadeja's wife Rivaba joined Bharatiya Janata Party, the cricketer's father and sister joined the Congress.
Jadeja's father Anirudhsinh and sister Nainaba enrolled into Congress at an election rally in Kalavad city of Jamnagar district on Sunday in the presence of party leader and Patidar quota spearhead Hardik Patel. The Congress candidate for Jamnagar Lok Sabha seat, Mulu Kandoriya, was also present.
Rivaba had joined the BJP on March 3 in Jamnagar in the presence sitting MP Poonamben Maadam, who was re-nominated by the saffron party.
Last year Rivaba was appointed as the head of Karni Sena's women wing in Gujarat. In November 2018, Rivaba along with her husband met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.
The PM had then posted a picture on his twitter account, “had a wonderful interaction with noted cricket player Ravindrasinh Jadeja and his wife, Rivaba. @imjadeja.”
The different political affiliations in Jadeja's family has surprised many. Polls to all the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat are scheduled to be held on April 23.
