Mangaluru, Apr 14: A bus which had been scrapped and kept by the side of national highway at Jappinamogaru in the outskirts of the city was torched by some miscreants at around 5 am on Sunday April 14.

The fire soon spread and engulfed a jeep which was also scrapped and kept some distance away. The Kankanady town police immediately arrived at the spot. They tried to contact the fire brigade at Pandeshwar for about 45 minutes but no one received the telephone call. Thereafter, they conveyed information to Pandeshwar police station and conveyed information to the fire brigade through them.

It was 6.20 am by the time the fire brigade personnel arrived with equipment at the spot. The people who had gathered there also were seen expressing anger at the way the fire brigade operates and wondering what would have happened if lives and high value things were at stake.

Why the fire fighters did not arrive on time?

I think there is some identity crisis. The fire fighters are having a misguided notion that they are chowkidars.

Dismiss all fireware people and choose a newone.People who are not attending their duties are not not suitable for this work. They should be aware of what they are for.Not go for fishing or drinking.Dont they have a alarm system?or call duty ?Isnt there in mangalore no other fireware dept around who can be reached for a fast work? They shouldnt pay them when they re not reachable.

When chowkidar becomes chor similarly all other departments behave the same. India will require the British to rule them as they are not mature and electing people who talk about cows. Hence you have poor quality administration.

All my words have no value as I saw a big rush when chowkidar came to Mangalore, what it means is people are willing for another notebandi.
