Vijayapura, Apr 14: Even as the polling date is nearing, friction between supporters of home minister, M B Patil, and BJP MLA from Muddebihal, A S Patil Nadahalli, has worsened. On Saturday April 13, hundreds of supporters of M B Patil gatecrashed into the press meet called by Nadahalli and created ruckus. Nadahalli has complained to the police about the incident, duly naming M B Patil as having been responsible for the disruption.

Nadahalli had called for press conference on Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of people, who were raising pro-M B Patil slogans, rushed into the venue and vandalized the place. The police led by assistant superintendent of police, Nyamagowda, and deputy superintendent of police, Ashok, cleared the place of protesters and brought situation under control.

Nadahalli later visited Golgumbaz police station here, and complained that goondas supported by M B Patil had tossed water bottles, used obscene words against him, and warned to kill him if he comes out. He sought protection for himself and his family. He also urged in his written complaint for initiating action against the guilty by holding impartial probe.
