Brahmavar, Apr 12: In a complaint filed in Kota police station, it has been alleged that some BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders attacked Ajit Shetty Yalahaklu, president of youth unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Kundapur assembly constituency unit. The attack reportedly happened at Manamballi during the late night hours on Tuesday, April 9.
Ajit had attended the Mehndi function relating to the marriage of his friend, Ganesh Shetty's elder brother, on Tuesday evening. He was resting after having dinner at around 12.30 am on Wednesday when RSS leader from Hubballi -Dharwad, Ratnakar Shetty, BJP leader and taluk panchayat member, Gundu Shetty, Surendra Shetty, Ambareesh Malyadi and others joined together and suddenly assaulted him. The complainant also said that the assailants also posed death threats to him. He claimed that he was threatened to resign from the post he holds in INTUC and join the BJP.
Kota police, who have registered the case, are probing the matter.
