Kundapur, Apr 12: Pramod Madhwaraj, Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, met disgruntled leaders of BJP in Kundapur taluk and sought their support on Thursday, April 11. This incident has created ripples in the political circles in the district.
Madhwaraj, who met the BJP leaders along with JD(S) and Congress leaders, spoke to media persons later. He said he had come to meet Kishore Kumar and Rajesh Kaveri seeking their support for his candidature.
Madhwaraj said that he had not invited these leaders to join the party. He said he was keen to see Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister and had urged the BJP disgruntled leaders to support him in forming a stable government under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
Rajesh Kaveri was ousted from BJP for anti-party activities. Speaking to media, Rajesh said he regretted that no value was attached to sincerity in BJP. “It has turned out to be a one-man party,” he complained.
Kishore Kumar said he will wholeheartedly support Madhwaraj. He said Madhwaraj had welfare of the constituency on top of his agenda.
Kumar, who recollected having worked for sitting MP Shobha Karandlaje in the previous election, said Shobha has forgotten him and never approached him again.
