Sullia: Thief who stole ornaments from house stands arrested

Sullia, Apr 11: Bellare police, on Wednesday April 10, succeeded in arresting a person accused of stealing gold and silver ornaments as well as cash from a house at Bellare in the taluk,.

Radha(28) ,wife of Somalingappa, resident of a rented house at Kolambala in Bellare village in the taluk had filed complaint of theft on April 6 this year. She had said that 11 grams of gold and silver ornaments and Rs 750 in cash, totally worth Rs 24,750 were stolen from a steel box in which she had kept them at her residence. She also claimed that the theft had happened before 9 am on April 6.

The arrested man has been identified as Shivamurthy alias Shivappa (34), son of Ishwarappa. He happens to be a resident of Gunjiganur in Holalkere taluk, Chitradurga district.  Shivamurthy has been accused of entering the house of Radha from Bellare, and stealing gold and silver ornaments worth as well as cash, totally valued at Rs 24,750.

On the basis of complaint made about the theft, Bellare police had registered the case and undertaken investigation. They succeeded in arresting the accused from Kolambala in Bellare village on Wednesday and recovered gold and silver ornaments stolen by them.

Probationary police sub-inspector, Anjaneya Reddy, assistant sub-inspector, Sudhakar and other personnel of Bellare police station took part in the operation.
