Mangaluru: Uma Prashant transferred; Laxmi Ganesh appointed DCP

Mangaluru, Apr 10: Uma Prashant, superintendent of police (SP) of Mangaluru Anti-Corruption Bureau has been transferred.

Also, Laxmi Ganesh of Karnataka State Police Service, has been appointed deputy commissioner of police (DCP) of crime and traffic, Mangaluru.

Laxmi Ganesh took charge as DCP on Wednesday April 10.


Uma Prashant

Uma Prashant, had earlier served as DCP crime and traffic under the Mangaluru city police commissionerate. In February this year, when she was appointed SP of Mangaluru ACB.

Known as a tough cop, Uma during her tenure as DCP had cracked down on drug peddlers in the city and also on drivers using shrill horns.

    Yes, she has done good job to control Drug peddlers and Shrilled horn. But still it is there in the city of Mangalore. She has failed to control the Traffic system.

    Ms. Uma Prashanth had indeed done an excellent job as DCP Crime and Traffic. I had several opportunities of meeting her on official work and had full support from her relating to Traffic Warden Squad.

    Wherever she goes she has my best wishes.

    Now I extend a warm welcome to Mr Laxmi Ganesh. May his tenure be a long and fruitful one.
