Bengaluru, Apr 9: BJP candidate from the city (south) constituency, Tejasvi Surya, failed to appear before Karnataka State Women's Commission in response to notice for second time on Monday April 8. The commission had served notice on Surya to appear before it in response to complaint made against him by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee's women's wing.
The advocate who appeared on behalf of Surya requested the commission not to consider the said complaint seriously. He also represented to the commission to allow his client to appear before the commission after the Lok Sabha election. The commission expressed its dissatisfaction at the failure of Girinagar police here, who were expected to produce Surya before the commission.
Speaking on the issue, chairperson of the commission, Nagalakshmi Bai, noted that notices had been served twice on Tejasvi Surya to appear before the commission personally. The advocate who appeared on behalf of him said that the complaint is politically motivated and requested the commission not to pursue it seriously, she explained.
