BANGALORE, Mar 13: Over 6.2 lakh students will appear for the second year Pre-University examination starting on Friday.
Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri said the examination would be held in 856 centres in different colleges across the State. As many as 160 centres had been declared sensitive and steps had been taken for smooth conduct of examination. The examination would conclude on March 26, he said. Evaluation of answer scripts would be held from March 30 to April 20 at 37 centres in Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Davangere and Mangalore. The results are expected to be announced on May 15, Mr. Kageri said.
The SSLC examination would commence from March 30 and 8.59 lakh students would appear for it in 2,762 centres in the State. About 39,000 teachers would evaluate answer scripts in 200 centres. The department would invoke the Anti-Goonda Act against those involved in spreading rumours about leak of question papers.
Students urged to ignore rumours
