New Delhi, Jan 15: Ahead of the media reports on the State Cabinet’s decision to implement the Caste Census report at its meeting on Thursday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made it clear that the subject will not be taken up at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

“It is pointless to oppose Caste Census based on speculative media reports as the report is yet to be made public,” clarified the chief minister while talking to media persons here on Wednesday.

Siddaramaiah also indicated that the Caste Census report will not be discussed at Wednesday’s meeting and will be taken up in the next meeting. He met news reporters after inspecting the new Kannada Bhavan building in New Delhi.

Answering questions, he said the Congress high command will take a final decision on change of State Congress president.
The decision of the party high command is final, he said when asked about Public Works Minister Satish Jarakiholi’s demand for change of KPCC president.

To a question on KEONICS Employees Association submitting a memorandum to Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot on the pending bills, Siddaramaiah said the previous government had left huge amounts of unpaid bills without necessary budgetary approvals. “The Congress government is taking steps to examine all pending bills and clearing them in phases,” he added.
