Kundapur: Prashanth Basrur's attacker is mentally challenged, under treatment

Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Apr 7: It is gathered that the Guinean who attacked and killed Prashanth Basrur from here and inflicted serious injuries to his wife near their apartment at Donauworth near Munich, Germany, has been considered as mentally ill. The initial investigation has concluded that he was not driven by any vengeance in attacking the couple and he did so due to disturbed mental condition. Currently he is being provided medical treatment.

The Guinean immigrant had all of a sudden attacked Prashanth and Smitha Basrur, living in the neighbouring apartment, with a knife last Friday morning. Prashanth had died in the attack while Smitha is being treated in a hospital.

Advocates based in Augsburg said that the accused is being treated for his mental condition as he was found to be not of sound mind. The preliminary investigations and primary opinions have pointed out to the possibility that the attack was launched not on purpose, but because of the attacker's mental imbalance. However, investigation has not yet concluded, as per statement of advocates and reported by the local media. At the request of the advocates, the arrest warrant of the accused was modified and order of temporary restraint was issued, it is said. The attacker has been admitted into the district hospital.

The police say that during their enquiry they did not come across any incident of friction or quarrel between the youth and Prashanth's family members before the fatal attack. The accused was overstaying his visa period, and the administration had denied his request for extension of visa. He was to be deported during March this year. The accused, who was going through mental turmoil on account of this had barged into the office of the administration and behaved rudely. A few days earlier, he was arrested when he was driving under the influence of drugs and liquor. His driving licence therefore had been cancelled which resulted in his losing his job as driver, the police said.

For me this incident looks similar to that happened a few years ago of Mindtree employee from DK in Australia. It's possible that attacker in that case too was staying in the same apartment just below the victim. Indians use coconut for cooking & peeling it makes a lot of noise on the floor & for residents of unit just below. I had heard from someone here that the residents of unit just below used to hit with some heavy object on their ceiling whenever the residents above used to peel coconut.

A clear case of a fanatic hero trying to avoid deportation and has now succeeded in extending his stay due to pending legal process. Germany, like rest of Europe will pay a heavy price for flirting with the extremists .

European countries always upheld the human rights and this is effects of upkeeping human rights.
The aggrieved party always look for excuses and loopholes in the law where as the main plaintiff, who are the real sufferer; have to swallow all the filth of the loopholes in the law.

I feel agitated, but what can we say when Germany law agencies concludes, that Prashanth Basrur's attacker is mentally challenged, under treatment.

    There are few unanswered questions

    1. Why was he allowed to go or discharged from the the hospital, when the patient was not completely recovered
    2. Why he only targeted Indian couple with knife
    3. When he was caught by the police for drink and drive & also for using narcotic substances and then cancelled his license, why the police did not check his visa status, as it was already expired and immediately deported or at least put him behind the bar and such action may have saved the life couple. Why did not not happen

Everyone's life is precious for once self and their dear one. It is highly disturbing untoward incident in a country like Germany, which has been enjoying, as one of the safest country in the World.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE AND WE ALL PRAY FOR HER SPEEDY RECOVERY

Hackers are very active nowadays & they have the tools to have 24*7 access to smartphones & PC's. Initially they blackmail for money & if not they make the personal information public. In the west, there are no laws that can prevent hackers from harrassing people & it's kind of social life. Unlike in India they can't take away money in the west as it's insured, but they can easily harrass people. Most of the people who get into the trap of hackers are Indians due to cultural difference.

@Cynthia Kirem,by saying so they will first be put in psychiatric klinik, instead of sending to jail for a hard punishment.Thats the tricks of many lawyers .They dont allow their clients to say anything so that opposite lawyer may not take to task and at the end he reveals the truth.I can say it must be true for once because of his denial of visa ,so he had to leave the country must have made him total out of mind, but not from beginning. But why should he attack this couple is a question. It looks like he came prepared to harm someone with knife ,I remember reading that they previously too had some neighbourhood misunderstanding and it went extreem by meeting .Anyway we cant bring him back ,Hope the lady will say the truth when she wakes up .wish her all the best.
