Udupi, Apr 3: Four persons, who had planned to execute robberies, were arrested by Udupi police here at Kinnimulki Junction on Tuesday Aril 2.
The arrested persons are Shyam, Venkatesh alias Venkat, Rakesh alias Rakesh Kumar and Gopi.
According to Udupi police, based on credible information that a gang of 5 members had planned to execute robberies, an operation was carried out at 4 am.
The police sources said that the five accused who were speaking Tamil and Hindi were allegedly planning robberies by diverting the attention of people by using some itching powder.
The police foiled their plans by arrested four persons and one accused managed to flee from the spot.
All accused had three different identity cards each and it is learnt that they belong to a gang from Chittur in Hyderabad.
The police have seized two monkey caps, face mask, bag, five mobile phones, slingshot, itching powder, identity cards, Aadhaar card and three bikes.
A case has been registered at Udupi city police station.
