Raichur, Mar 29: A young doctor from Raichur who obtained his medical degree from KMC, Manipal has died in New Jersey, US where he was working.
Manideep Nandigam (28) was found dead in the premises of St Peter's University Hospital, New Jersey, his family members residing there informed the media.
It has been alleged that Manideep died under suspicious circumstances. His parents Srinivas and Padma have urged the police to investigate their son's death, sources said.
After completing MBBS from Manipal, Manideep went to New Jersey for his postgraduate studies three years ago. He began his career at St Peter's University Hospital there.
Manideep was residing at the house of a relative who is a software engineer by profession. Sources said that on the morning of Thursday March 28, Manideep went to the hospital as usual, but did not return. It was reported that he passed away while at the hospital.
His friend Nikhil Bharadwaj on Friday March 29 posted on Twitter: "My dear friend, a doctor at St Peters University hospital, New Jersey, USA has died under mysterious circumstances. There are unverified claims that it's related to hate crime. Need official confirmation. Need the truth to come out. #JusticeforManideep (sic)."
Manideep is survived by his parents and a brother who is an engineer working in Bengaluru.
