Bantwal, Mar 24: A young girl and her father were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their house at BC Road here on Saturday March 23.

The deceased have been identified as Prabhakar (45) and his daughter Pramanya (12), a student of fourth standard. Their bodies were found in their rented house at Viveknagar in BC Road.

It is suspected that they might have committed suicide by consuming poison. Police suspect that the man might have poisoned his daughter and then consumed it himself.

Prabhakar had been staying in the rented house for the past three years. Prior to that, he had worked in the Gulf. Sources said that he was into finance.

Pramanya was a student of SVS English Medium School in Bantwal. A talented student, she did not attended classes on Friday and Saturday, sources said.

Bantwal town police arrived at the spot and conducted investigations. SP Laxmi Prasad and other police personnel of Bantwal police also arrived and conducted detailed inquiry.
