Mangaluru, Mar 22: After days of speculations, youth Congress leader Mithun Rai has been reportedly selected as the candidate from Congress for Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency.

Official announcement will be made anytime before March 25, said Congress party sources.

Host of leaders like Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Kanachur Monu, B K Hariprasad, Ivan D’Souza, U T Khader were summoned to New Delhi by the Congress high command earlier. Most of them were ticket aspirants.

After many meetings in New Delhi on Thursday, the decision was left to Congress high command. It was reported earlier that all these leaders vowed to support the candidate chosen by the top leadership.

Nalin Kumar Kateel is the candidate from BJP for Dakshina Kannada constituency.

It's been 28 years. For 28 years the district has not seen an MP other than that of the BJP. What have we got in return for this blind bhakti? Nothing, things have gotten worse in terms of employment, social friction. And there's no decent representative to speak on our behalf in Delhi because the vote was for "Modi"and BJP anyway and he knows he doesn't need to work. What's intriguing is that the most literate district in Karnataka has an MP who hasn't cleared high school. Now that we have Rai, a graduate, contesting against him, he is still asking for votes in the name of "Modiji". What a terrible state of affairs. I hope Mithun puts an end to the arrogance. Mithun Rai seems to be a nice guy. He might not have amassed huge wealth in his short political career.
My sincere suggestion is that he should not spend much of his own money for this election campaign. BJP's win in Dakshina Kannada is a confirmed fact. Why waste money?

The Mangalore constituency is won by BJP for last since 1991 for the last 25 years. There is two union cabinet minister represented in central government had given anything to this region. The sitting MP Nalin Kumar who wants to burn his own constituency is hardly able to complete the flyovers even elected twice.

BJP showing arrogance by again fielding very unpopular Nalin Kateel as candidate. BJP ignores Mangalore as they think anyway people will vote for only BJP . The BJP has been winning Mangalore since 1991. Imagine, it means that a 28 year old person in the district has seen no other MP apart from the BJP! The best ever news , right candidate, it would be a disaster had they put up a minority candidate. Now the note goes for the person who will do good as against a totally useless fellow, who most likely will lose his deposit.
Nalin Kumar's fate will be the same as that of his pumpwell deadend. Madawaraj against the other useless Shobha is again a well thought off move.
Modi magic won't work as the people in our district are sensible and educated. Our good wishes to Mithun Rains and Madawaraj.

Also hope that Ananth Kumar Hegde and Simha lose their deposit for the crime of polarization and intolerance. The fact that Advani was unceremoniously sidelined to make way for Amit Sha is a very ominous sign.. Vote sensible, this is a crucial election.
