Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (AM)

Kundapur, Mar 21: In a shocking incident, a man drove away his lawfully wedded wife out of the house and married a woman who was already engaged to someone else.

The man involved in the shameful incident is Sayyed Siddique who hails from Bhadravati. He had married Hosangadi resident Mubeena in a mass wedding ceremony three and half years ago. The couple has a child But now, all of a sudden, Sayyed sent his wife out of their house and abandoned her.

A case was registered at Bhadravati police station. Police personnel summoned Sayyed and advised him for good.

The next day itself, Sayyed reportedly married the already engaged girl, Sabeeha Banu, residing in the neighbourhood. Sabeeha was supposed to get married the next month with another man to whom, she was already engaged. It is said that Sayyed, even after knowing that she was supposed to get married, forcefully married her. It is also being said that he is being supported by the community’s head and senior members in the area. Mubeena, with her child, is fighting for justice now.

When Mubeena’s parents and unless questioned Sayyed for his actions, he said that he would look after both his wives. A miffed Mubeena is now at her parents’ home. She has registered a complaint at Amasebail police station limits with an appeal of bringing her husband back to her.

Ireally dont understand this fellow. How he can putout his legally married wife witha child driveout and forcefully marry a girl from neighbourhood who was engeged to another man?looks like a cockfight.was his first wife too old and neihgbours girl young ?Now he says he will lookafter both wives. Then why did he put her out first.?Second how could religious heads support this ?Is it of money they get from him.The child was not a son but girl was the reason?(I dont know the child is a girl or boy)first abandon and later say will lookafter.sad that the women have hardly rights in muslim religion.mostly men rule over them. How bad for the child now in this situation to grow up without a proper intact family .Even firstone comes back to husband ,is not a fine situation full of harmony in future.wish her good luck.

It is injustice & unless he settle the issue of divorce he can’t marry one of his choice. The problem lies with his sexual lust. His trouble maker devil should be sized for that matter.

I believe it is permitted for him per his own law Upto 7 wives provided that he is capable of taking care of them physically and financially. For sure ditching is against humanity and evil mind. In this case he hurts many families just for his desires.that is how humans are

If he can give justice to all, he can marry 4 and not 7.

Marriage is always better than adultery. It gives respect. Unfortunately people are more against polygamy than adultery. The Supreme Court on September 27, 2018 unanimously struck down Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code that makes adultery a punishable offence for men.

It's for the community to introspect and reform and provide due justice to all its constituents. No community can ever prosper without proper justice delivery systems within.

Don't blame the whole community for an individual's mistake. Can anyone force this man to follow his own religion at least? The police has to arrest him for abandoning his wife and marrying other girl by force.

Is my comment sounding like I am blaming entire community?
Read again the last line of last before one paragraph. It has been stated that, community head and senior members in the area have supported the move.
Then decide who is responsible for this episode! Those opposing can not be party to wrong deeds, whether in community or outside.

It's well and fine if you have not blamed the whole community. I appreciate your concern.

    @Rajesh,

The Quran itself is against Triple Talaq. So how can anyone justify with the book.

"A miffed Mubeena is now at her parents’ home. She has registered a complaint at Amasebail police station limits with an appeal of bringing her husband back to her."

Mubeena knows he's done the deed, he has dragged another woman, whether innocent or not, into his muck and yet Mubeena wants him back.

They say a woman is a woman's worst enemy; she does not mind the damage caused by her husband to the other woman; her only aim is to save her marriage at any cost, if there is any marriage left at all?

    Very true.
How the other lady, already engaged to someone else, could marry this man? Forcefully?
How could community elder support cruelty to 3 parties, i.e. first wife, forcefully married second wife and her engaged man deprived of legitimate wife?
How could the community appoint such a person as their community leader?

    Antonio,

If the motive is just of possessing a man, obviously there is no need of a marriage if ownership of a man is the requisite. A mother can keep her son unmarried, fearing losing him for another woman. Human beings marry, because they want to establish a family. Now, when this man is married and has a child, its not the man his wife want, what she wants more is the father for her child.

At the same time, the man has said that he will keep both the wives which is permitted in his community. His wife should understand this and return to her husband's home, let the man sort out the matters and keep both of them happy as his religion asks of him.

    Jennifer,

    Your perspective...……….
"At the same time, the man has said that he will keep both the wives which is permitted in his community. His wife should understand this and return to her husband's home, let the man sort out the matters and keep both of them happy as his religion asks of him."

Mubeena's perspective of the whole issue...…………..
"A miffed Mubeena is now at her parents’ home. She has registered a complaint at Amasebail police station limits with an appeal of bringing her husband back to her."

    Similarities or dissimilarities?

Me thinks that Mubeena would not want to share her husband at all, he may have as many mistresses as he wishes but not another wife.

Again, a woman is a woman's worst enemy, and we have your perspective as proof at least for the community.

I feel sorry for the women and her child, These types of men should be punished by law. Our government should not allow Married men or women to remarry without a legal divorce. Be it any religion.

We should encourage parents of the girls to be bold and address such issues in police and speak up for their daughters, always remember your daughters life is more important than what the people in the society will say or social status.
