Udupi, Mar 17: Malpe Vasu, known to some as 'Troll Boss' for frequently trolling a political party with controversial posts on social media was questioned by the police here on Sunday March 17.
Of late, there has a been flurry of political posts on social media targeting a political party or politicians of a particular party. Such posts and videos have been going viral. According to the police, Vasu was questioned and released with a warning not to disturb peace in the society ahead of elections especially when the model code of conduct being in place.
Police further said that Vasu does not have a mobile phone. Unidentified men had lured him with cash and liquor, videographed and posted his clip on social media. The police reportedly told him that even humour should have a limit.
On Sunday March 17, social media was abuzz with claims that Malpe Vasu had been arrested for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with some of the supporters asking BJP leaders to intervene.
However, the police dismissed the claims and clarified that Vasu was not arrested but was only summoned and freed after a stern warning.
The party workers of the Congress too had warned a few miscreants for using Vasu to insult the party and its leaders.
