Sullia, Mar 16: Mohammed Kunhi Vittal, district president of JD (S), has urged Congress party to take disciplinary action on former central minister and senior leader of Congress, Janardhana Poojary for his confusing and misleading comments like ‘Modi should be the PM again’ and also for criticizing the leaders of the Congress party.
Speaking at the press conference on Friday, March 15, Kunhi said, "Poojary, who is saying that Modi should become the Prime Minister again, on the other hand says that he is also an aspirant for the Congress ticket to contest in the upcoming election. He criticizes senior Congress leaders of the state like Siddaramaiah. He also says not to give ticket to certain individuals. Who is Janardhana Poojary to give such statements when the elections are around the corner?"
Janardhana Poojary
"Poojary has lost three or four elections. He has been rejected by his own community as well as the minorities. Therefore, the Congress leaders should not keep quiet on his personal statements. As JD (S) is the alliance partner of Congress in the state of Karnataka, we are giving the information of this development," added Mohammed Kunhi Vittal.
When questioned if JD (S) will support Janardhana Poojary, if the Congress gives him the ticket, Mohammed Kunhi said, "Is it possible for Poojary, who says Modi has to be the PM again and speaks against the Congress party, to get ticket from the Congress party? In case, the Congress party gives him ticket, we will not object and offer our support to him."
M B Sadashiva, state vice-president of JD (S), Akshith Suvarna, president of district youth JD (S), Sumathi Hegde, president of district women's wing of JD (S) and Kumbra Dayakar Alva president of taluk unit were present at the press conference.
