Mangaluru, Feb 16: Veteran actor Anant Nag will make his debut in Tulu film industry with ‘English’ directed by Sooraj Shetty, produced by Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar under the banner ACME movies international.
Addressing media here at Laxmi Memorial College on Saturday, February 16, Anant Nag said," I always wanted to work in a Tulu movie but I did not get the opportunity. But through producer Harish Sherigar and director Sooraj Shetty, I am getting a chance.”
“Though for few years I have done my schooling in Udupi, I am not so fluent in Tulu language. I am learning Tulu language and reading the script of the movie and I hope I do justice to the role. I play the character of a tutor,” said Nag.
Director Sooraj Shetty said that the movie will be shot at Mangaluru, Udupi and Moodabidri in a 30 day schedule.
Pruthvi Ambar and Navya Poojary are playing the lead roles in the film, while Naveen D Padil, Bojraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Vismaya Vinayak, Deepak Rai are playing prominent roles.
The movie will be shot by Krishna Sarathy while Manikanth Kadri will provide music.
Sooraj Shetty has earlier directed ‘Ekka Saka’, ‘Pilibail Yamunakka’ and ‘Ammer Polisa’, while Harish Sherigar has produced three Kannada films ‘March 22’, ‘Hottegagi Genu Battegagi’ along with Ananth Nag and yet to be released Kannada movie ‘Yaana’.
The muhurat of Tulu film ‘English’ was held on January 28 at Sharavu temple.
Producer Harish Sherigar, Sharmila Sherigar, actor Pruthvi Ambar, actress Navya Poojary and others were present.
