Mangalore, Jan 28: Physio Walkathon for peace was held in the city on Tuesday January 27.
The event was organized by the South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers Association along with the students as a part of 'Physio Week-09'.
Sadanand Shetty, chairman, Shreedevi Educational Trust, inaugurated the programme and hoisted the flag of the Walkathon at Shreedevi College of Physiotherapy in the city.
The students marched through the Empire Mall, Lalbagh and Lady Hill, holding aloft placards carrying slogans that appealed for global peace and concluded at the Vikas College of Physiotherapy.
Nidhish Shetty, vice-chairman, Shreedevi Educational Trust, participated as the guest of honour.
Dr U T Iftikar Ali, convener, 'Physio Week', addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Over 1,000 physiotherapy students and staff members participated on the occasion. Principals and employees of various physiotherapy colleges were present.
