Udupi: Nine more monkeys die - blood samples of two sent for testing

Udupi, Jan 26: Lifeless remains of a monkey each were found from Permude, Balebail, Shiriyara, Shankarnarayana, Panjimar in Shirva, Shiradi and Nidle on Friday January 25. Two more carcasses were recovered from near Badravati. A total of nine monkeys were found to have died near human habitats on Friday January 25.

Blood sample of a person who is on a visit to the house of his relative at Kabbinale in the district was sent to KMC Hospital Manipal for testing. He hails from Sagar, Shivamogga district. Blood sample of a person from Heroor near Brahmavar too was sent or testing.

Currently, 21 persons, all from Sagar and surrounding areas, are being treated for monkey fever at KMC Hospital Manipal.
