US-based website survey lists Mangaluru as only safe city of India

Mangaluru, Jan 23: A survey conducted by 'The Daily Meal' website on food and travel has found that Mangaluru is the only safe place in India for tourists. It is among the 50 most safe places in the world.

'The Daily Meal' website is being run by a sister concern of Chicago-based 'The Tribune' publication.

For travellers visiting different destinations, safety happens to be of top priority. 'The Daily Meal', through has put together details like problems posed by different cities to travellers, and which cities offer advantages to them etc.

The survey had asked people to allot marks to cities on a scale of one to hundred. In the list of top cities as far as safety aspects are concerned, Doha stands first, followed by Abu Dhabi. Mangaluru has got 31st place in the list. It has secured 75.62 marks in the safety index.

    We Mangaloreans are known as peaceful living with harmony and well educated and discipline people. As history says Undivided South Kanara was well known for its peaceful existence . There were some exeptions come across, but still we live in unity with harmony among all in the region. As Mangaloreans feel proud for the 31st place as safest place is an eye opener so that maintain the same . This is a recognition for all the people as irrespective of religion , caste, community who all spread across the world . Let us pray that all the cities will work for better safety.

    When it comes to 'food' Mangalore is obviously the winner. As far as safety 'The Daily Meal' survey is nothing but flawed.
    This is the same city made headlines when Hindu fanatics attacked partying girls in 'pub attacks' and 'Morning mist attack'.
    This is the same city recorded RTI activist murder having a direct connection with the sitting MLA and MP.
    This is the same city saw the highest number of communal violence in 25 years of BJP ruling.
    This is the city which recorded 'lynching' death.
    This is the city 'Moral police' is at the highest threshold.
    This is the same city rationalist was facing death threat.
    This is the same city Hindu fanatics are exposed in sting operation having nexus with law enforcement, religious leaders, Bar council in all communal related crimes.
    This is the same city Church attacks are recorded.

    I don't know what parameters have been considered by this web-based survey without ground reality. Perhaps 'The Daily Meal' doesn't know that the city security is run Hindu fanatic group leader Bajrang Dal' who provides security by threatening which the Central Intelligence Agency, in its recent edition of the ‘World Factbook’, has named the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal as “terrorist organizations”.
    The proposed 'smart city' lacks smart people. Besides having the potential to grow the city choose 'Hinduism' over 'Development'.
    In the last 25 years of BJP there are no major developments in the city once known for educational institutes and medical services.

    During any importance section in the lawns of five star restaurant late thackeraysaab use to order juice. Stewards all knows what he need actually..they bring branded juice along with straw pipe alongwith placing just piece of lemon..for name sake. Latter on he sip during conversation and take related decision.
