Karkala: Youth Day celebrated at St Joseph's Church, Belman

Karkala, Jan 22: Youth Day at St Joseph's Church, Belman was celebrated on the January 20.

The day began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Roque Fernandes, principal of Rosario Degree college, Mangaluru. Fr Edwin D'Souza, parish priest, St Joseph Church, Belman, Fr Prakash Menezes, assistant parish priest, Belman Church concelebrated the Mass. The youth of the parish participated in the Mass very devoutly.

A session for the youth was held after the Mass in the church mini hall. Fr Royson Fernandes, PRO of Udupi diocese was the resource person for the session.



A cultural programme was organised by the ICYM and YCS unit of the parish. The chief guest of the programme was Prof Herald Fernandes, former principal of Mahesh Degree College, Mangaluru. Fr Edwin D'Souza, Fr Prakash Menezes, Fr Kiran Nazareth, Dion D'Souza, president ICYM Udupi Diocese, Jason Cabral, and Deril D’sa were present on the dais.

Young achievers of the parish Jenilda Mathias and Fiona Fernandes were facilitated. The parish youth artists performed a Konkani play titled 'Bindisola' and was much appreciated by the parishioners. The whole programme was compered by Joyline Rebello, and Meryl D’Cruz, YCS.
