Mangaluru Jan 19: Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade inaugurated silver jubilee celebration of Dr M N Rajendra Kumar as president of SCDCC bank here at Nehru Maidan on Saturday, January 19.
Addressing the gathering Heggade said,”I am very happy for the success of Dr M N Rajendra Kumar because he treats me as his Guru and when a disciple achieves something, it’s a happiest feeling.”
“The cooperative policies have reached the door steps of poorest of poor and there are many examples where people have made use of the benefits to start business and succeeded. I want everyone to benefit by utilizing the cooperative policies,” said Veerendra Heggade.
“Twenty-five years ago Dr M N Rajendra Kumar entered into cooperative sector and strengthened it. This gained momentum with crores of profit till date. Those who are new to cooperative sector never neglect it. It’s a small service and can bring several positive changes if you are determined and passionate on achieving something. I also urge you to do a survey in the district under the leadership of Dr M N Rajendra Kumar to spread the importance of cooperative sector to the other districts,” Heggade stressed.
President of SCDCC Bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar said, ”This is one of the moments to cherish in my last 25 years. 25 years ago till today there has been lot of changes in the cooperative sector. I could achieve this feat all because of the blessings of Dr Veerendra Hegde as I look up to him as my inspiration.”
“I took suggestion of Dr Veerendra Hegde before starting Navodaya Self Help Groups and his guidance always brought me success. I stepped into cooperative sector to serve the people. Whichever scheme was introduced our district was the first one to implement and ensured it reached beneficiaries,” he said.
District-in-charge minister U T Khader said,” I congratulate Dr M N Rajendra Kumar on reaching the milestone of 25 years in cooperative sector. Government has helped in regional development, at the same time the cooperative also contributed for the development of the region. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar has taken the cooperative bank to a next level. Through cooperative society he has helped to avail loan for the poor and hence run their own business.”
Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda who saw the sea of people gathered to witness the silver jubilee celebration of Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, joked that politicians need to worry.
“From past several years there are several changes that took place. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar has brought several changes in cooperative sector and made it reach the next level,” he said.
“Usually we see such celebrations when a politician turns victorious and after the celebration, sadly some politicians can’t be trusted. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar deserves this celebration for serving people for the last 25 years. I have always stressed to waive loan of the farmers and we should find a permanent solution to it and stand in favour of farmers. We are in need of a fertilizer factory for which land has been identified at Davangere, at the same time we are reviving 6 such factories which was closed down and were worth Rs 16,000 crore. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar has come forward to construct fertilizer factory and showed interest in giving funds through his cooperative federation,” said D V Sadananda Gowda.
Minister for co-operation Bandeppa Kashempur said,”History has been created with such a large crowd gathered for a co-operative event. I congratulate Dr M N Rajendra Kumar for actively serving people for 25 years. We need to arrange experts from Dakshina Kannada to spread the message of cooperative in the other districts to know the importance of co-operative sector.”
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said,”This is not the convention of cooperative but the convention of humanity. Dr M N Rajendra Kumar has earned respect, love and affection from the people. The crowd gathered in Nehru Maidan is the proof of it.
Prior to the formal function grand colorful procession was taken out from SCDCC head office to Nehru Maidan which was flagged off by union minister D V Sadananda Gowda.
