London, Jan 04: England`s cricket coach Peter Moores has refrained from commenting over his recent fallout with captain Kevin Pietersen but did not rule out that the honeymoon period was over.
Pietersen has been livid with Moores for his role in excluding former skipper Michael Vaughan from the squad for the Test series against the West Indies and has threatened to resign if his suggestions on selection matters were not considered.
Moores, along with the selectors, decided not to pick Vaughan, who was high on Pietersen`s priority list forcing the skipper to come out in the open.
The crisis has forced England and Wales Cricket Board to send managing director Hugh Morris to salvage the situation.
Moores, though, passed off the opportunity to speak about his side of the story. "I hope you understand that I can`t really comment at this stage. I think I`ll take a rain-check on that," Moores said.
However, Moores did not deny that his relationship with Pietersen has broken down and instead said "no comments" when asked whether he could work with the England skipper.
