Bengaluru, Jan 16: Congress sources on Wednesday confirmed that former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi and Chincholi MLA Umesh Jadhav are likely to join BJP.

“They seem to have committed to jump ship and join the BJP,” said the sources from Congress.

As a countermeasure, at least four BJP legislators are in touch with the Congress-JD(S), they claimed.

Meanwhile there are reports that around 5 Congress MLAs are lodged in Goa. This is apart from three MLAs lodged in Mumbai.

Congress has scheduled its legislature party meeting on January 18 in a bid to keep all its MLAs together.

One of the biggest recipients and facilitators of black money - or unaccounted for income - in cash or otherwise - are the political parties and their gargantuan election campaigns. In the name of democracy, extravagant build-ups to polls, whether at central or state level, are seen, all supposedly in the interest of the nation and its multi-party, parliamentary election system. However, a humungous chunk of the funding that runs the show is through back channels and goes unaccounted for.
This is India's dirty secret - the wheels within wheels of election funding, all in the name of maintaining a robust and healthy democracy.
Polls don't come cheap. The Election Commission itself spent a very big sum - Rs 3,500 crore - in 2014 to conduct the Lok Sabha polls in all of the 543 parliamentary constituencies of India. What's striking is the steep rise in the graph in post-liberalized India, and particularly steeper climbs when NDA came to power.
By considering the base figures of 2014 election expenses, one constituency going to election cost Rs 10 crores from taxpayers money.
Now regardless of party affiliation, one need to think why the government funding is not reaching the needy and poor.
The BJP is wooing JD(S)-Congress coalition MLA's of Rs 100 crores. The BJP with 104 MLA's it needs at least 10 MLA's to defect. Imagine the cost of reelection around 20 seats multiplies by 10 crores for each constituency.
Forget demonetization, what about black money at the heart of Indian democracy?
Extravagant election campaigns and opaque funding for political parties are a big contributor to the rogue economy.
The BJP which promised 'corruption-free' India in 2014 Lok Sabha elections is encouraging the corruption by shopping the opposition MLA's for the lust of power.
The party of difference shining India has no money for flood relief, suiciding farmers, Pakoda for employment for educated youth. But has indispensable amount to buy opposition MLA's.

The rule itself is they have to resign and fresh mandate.
The idea is to 'fix'congress and aliies numbers to less than 106.BJP has 104 +2 independents.
So at least 10 to 12 MLAs from INC+JDS have to resign and get reelected.If not ,again JDS INC will rule
Till then the new government of BJP,if it is formed after resigning will be safe for 6 months until the re election of resigned candidates
