Kasargod, Jan 14: Police personnel of New Delhi have arrested C M Muhataseem alias Taseem (41), a resident of Chembarika near Chemnad in the district. He has been accused of hatching a conspiracy to kill Sangh Parivar leaders.
The police suspect that Taseem might be having connections with terrorists. They have not given more details about this link. They took him to New Delhi after producing in the court here.
Police personnel of Vidyanagar station in the town had taken Taseem into custody at the request of New Delhi police on January 11 from Chattanchal. Delhi police came here the next day and took the accused into custody. Officials of central intelligence department too had come for questioning Taseem.
Taseem already faces two cases of with respect to creating fake passports, which is registered in Bekal police station, and a case relating to posing threat to Vipin, who was police sub-inspector of Bekal station. Taseem, who is locally identified as 'Don', had been interrogated earlier by the Interpol and intelligence division officials several times over appointment of young men from here for terrorist organizations based in Kashmir.
The police said that Taseem holds an unauthorized identity card which he himself has prepared with the duplicate seal of Indian government. The card shows his name as Muhataseem C M, Tasleem Don (RAW), Kulabhe, near Ganapati temple, Bendies House, Mumbai - 400 001. This resembles the identity cards issued to research and analysis wing connected with Indian military intelligence.
