Bengaluru, Jan 12: Mohan, working in the office of backward classes welfare minister, Puttaranga Shetty, who was in the custody of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials relating to Rs 25.76 lac cash recovered from him at Vidhana Soudha, was handed over to 14 days judicial custody on Friday January 11.
Sources said that Mohan has confessed about the persons who gave him money. Anantu, who was deputed to the office of the said minister from the ministry of skill development, Krishnamurthy, working in the office of the labour minister, as well as Mohan's friends, Nanda and Shreenidhi, have been served with the notices based on the statement of the accused. Mohan reportedly told the ACB police that Krishnamurthy and Anantu used to instruct to him how and from whom money was to be collected and to whom it should be delivered.
Reportedly, the government had not released grants for laying roads to colonies of nomads in the state. The firm to which contract for the roads was given, had handed over bribe to Mohan in cash with instruction to hand it over to the minister, it s said. ACB sources said that the money was confiscated by the police before it could be delivered to the minister.
