Kundapur, Jan 11: “Dr Madhukar Shetty was identified by dedication and sincerity in work even though we did not have any direct contact with him. He was the star of the country’s police system,” said retired police inspector general of the state Ajayku Marsingh. He was speaking in the prayer meeting held for late Dr Madhukar Shetty at Ankadakatte here on Friday.
Senior journalist and thinker Dinesh Amin mattu said that we have seen in history that the children of idealists always remain against them and their families become their victims. “Our children do not want idealists such as Gandhiji, Ambedkar, Buddha and others. Madhukar Shetty grew against the formula of pleasing higher officials and suppressing those below him for success. He lived in between friction with senior officials and love to his subordinates. Those who got him transferred from Chikkamagaluru are praising him,” he lamented.
South zone director of police, Arun Chakravarthy said that relationships change when we reach comfort zones. “But Madhu remained as a friend and later as a teacher. He had new plans without looking for publicity. He had social thinking and humane insights,” he said.
