Rahul in Dubai : I am here to listen your 'Dil Ki Baat', not to tell 'mann ki baat'

DUBAI, Jan 11 (PTI) : Congress president Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his monthly radio programme "Mann Ki Baat" in Dubai on Friday, saying that that he wants to listen to problems of the Indian workers there instead of telling his "mann ki baat (matters of the mind)".

"Main yahan apne mann ki baat kahne nahi aaya hun..main yayan aapke dil ki baat sunane aaya hun (I have not come here to speak my mind, I have come to listen to your heart)," he said in his address at the Jabel Ali labour colony.

He was referring to PM Modi's radio broadcast "Mann Ki Baat" where he addresses the nation on various issues.

Since the last few days, Rahul Gandhi, on Twitter, has been attacking the prime minister and the government especially over the Rafale jet deal.

Rahul Gandhi, who is in the UAE, was welcomed by the Indian community at the Dubai airport on Thursday. He praised the Indian workers in Dubai for making the country proud by their hard work in the UAE.

"You have illuminated the names of every religion, every state and every caste," he said.

Speaking to Migrant Workers in Dubai, Rahul Gandhi Misses a Rare Opportunity?

Should the Congress president have spoken to vulnerable Indian workers about Andhra's special status or about their own lives?

But unfortunately, Rahul missed a chance to tell men and women what they most needed to hear.

Instead of telling the blue-collar workers that their rights will be protected, that they will get a safe, orderly and regular migration opportunity if the Congress comes to power in 2019 in India, Rahul told them that Andhra Pradesh will get special status, which is definitely not a topic of interest for them. And even if it creates some interest, it would definitely not be the first on a list of priorities.

As a politician who stands a good chance to lead India, Rahul should have told the workers on what he and his party could do if they come to power other than just saying that he is standing with them.

There are 30 million Indians migrant workers, with over nine million in the GCC region (Gulf Cooperation Council) alone. Over 90% of the Indian migrant workers who work in the Arab Gulf are semi-skilled and unskilled workers.

In 2016, the UN recognised migration as an important topic to be addressed. After negotiations with 193 countries, including India, the global body had launched a Global Compact for Migration with more than 20 objectives to ensure safe, orderly and regular migration.

Even though Rahul would not be able to talk about the Global Compact with blue-collar workers in Dubai, he should have at least told that if he comes to power, he would try his best to follow the Global Compact to protect the Indian migrant workers’ rights – so that nobody is denied pay, respect and rights.

With the upcoming elections nipping at the party’s heels, the Gandhi scion’s advisors should have also thought of the importance of proxy votes that could make a great difference to who wins or loses.

Hope Mr. Sam Pitroda, Mr. Harsha and Congress takes note of it.

In 2014 Prime Minister Modi came to power listening to the 'Mann ki Baat' but he has neglected the NRI's who is contributed to his party funding in large.
It is no doubt that NRI contribution to both nations is immense hardly any leaders from BJP appreciated which Mr. Rahul Gandhi has done is remarkable.
I appreciate his request made to visit labor accommodations, which won't be a reality with the Prime Minister Modis' Suit Boot ki Sarkar.
In nearly five years of Prime Minister Modi there is hardly any one-to-one question-answer session, but this labor interaction by Mr. Rahul Gandhi is a game changer.
Though most of the employee grievances are based on salary, I personally request Mr. Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Sam Pitroda to fill the loophole like the Philippines emigration policies which has more impact than India.
Lastly, Compulsory registration of Gulf-based employee of Prime Minister Modi should be stopped. This is nothing but to keep them under surveillance and future plans of the government to implement taxes on NRI's.
No registration should be promoted unless the Government of India first brings the law on 'Data Protection Law'.

Hello ??? It started from MODI ! He went to other side of Globe to make negative ga.. ga.. about Congress. And, he has not stopped it even now, when just two months of his term is left.

His predecessor had not uttered one word in criticism about opposition outside India.

Now why are you feeling the reverse heat ???

Just by looking at the audience we will come to know a person's value,Modi has spoken to huge crowd and Rahul is still facing a small private gathering ."Mann ki baat (matters of the mind)" is a valid statement since modi is speaking what he has to address the Nation. But our Rahul ji is he GOD to fulfill everyone wish there ? Atleast did he at least allow 20% of the crowd to say their "Dil Ki Baath" ?
Very good example is our current Karnataka Government,Even after managing to get Majority (JDS+Congress) .What did they do? "LIERS"

I feel Modi government has made some visible changes.
    1. Colorful Notes & also Transact without using these Colorful note (Cashback offer's!!!)
    3. Opening NHPS,APY,PMJDY,So that many of their money/health is secured
4.Bringing down technology to people in lower triangle.
5.Swach Bharath Abhiyaan (At Least they have tried to inculcate some good habits to citizens of India,Anyways many are'nt following which is again a Bad News)
    6. Aadhar Card.

Am little less bothered about currency value, oil rates because these are related to Global Factors, & Yes! we may have been affected by this.
Coming to Aadhar ,Indian government wanted this to be India's Green Card since we don't have proper Social Security Number (SSN Number). Its 2020 and still don't have a proper Identity number which is strictly regulated. And it has been misused by our dear agents.Aadhar ended up with Bad reputation. They should have made a strict law for Aadhar.
Main problem with our country is we don't have strict law,and many don't care for whichever law come's and always there is an excuse!!!Best example is school,Where kids gets punished for not doing their homework & they are treated equally. But in India everyone is not treated equal ,We have laws based on Cast.
I don't know what's happening with Rafale deal,Malya,Nirav because the internal things are not visible to our eyes we can only blame each other.
We blame Modi for supporting Reliance,I hope everyone is enjoying JIO.

People always like to hear 'SWEET TALKERS' that is why they have the capacity to fool and cheat people. You know from the past 5 years what Modi has done! Only fake talks. Still specially educated people get attracted to him means the value of their certificates is - FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!! You heard one saying "GOAT/SHEEP WILL ALWAYS TRUST THE BUTCHER TILL THE TIME HE APPLY THE SHARPENED KNIFE TO ITS OWN NECK". But that was too late.................................

Sahil Bhai.... Whatever you say... He will always be Pappu... Bhai check his PR skill, leave alone his Management skills. Do you think he can carry the same skill like Tharoor or Sachin Piolet ( I have not mentioned Modi because of different party). Its a hard fact that A person who cannot write a simple Condolences message or pronounce properly or talk some logic, I will not take the risk of handing over our Nation to him. I am a voter I want my Nation to be noticed in a positive way, which I feel Pappu can't be able to help. Let Congress field some dynamic personality, my vote will be there. I want my nation to win whether its from BJP, Congress or any other capable party.
If He is improving then it will be really good for him as well as the the party but it will take some time. Because he is a nice guy he should improve. Its a universal rule that to get the best of any person it will take some time not immediately.
