Mangaluru, Jan 10: Dr Salma Suhana from city who has been pursuing super specialty course in SSIMS and RC Medical College, Davanagere, has been chosen by the American Academy of Neurology for its prestigious international scholarship. She is among 30 persons chosen from all over the world for the award.
Dr Salma Suhana was identified by Fr Muller Medical College here as the best medical student of the college and she had won gold medal. She completed MBBS degree through Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with two gold medals, and post graduation (MD) through Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Bengaluru in general medicine.
The academy, in recognition of Dr Salma's study on 'Cerebral Venous Thrombosis', has chosen her for the said award which would be presented to her at the global convention of neurologists being held at Philadelphia.
Dr Salma happens to be the daughter of retired deputy director of New Mangalore Port Trust, Khalid Tannirbhavi , and wife of Dr Shakeel, who is assistant professor in the department of dental sciences, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. She also happens to be the daughter-in-law of retired judge, Moosakunhi Nairmoole.
