Bengaluru, Jan 9: In a sudden development, Karnataka state BJP president, B S Yeddyurappa, rushed to New Delhi and held discussions with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and BJP national president, Amit Shah. This development has given rise to lot of speculations.
This development has taken place at a time when BJP's efforts to woo legislators from other parties through its 'Operation Lotus' in a bid to form the government ostensibly failed to click. Yeddyurappa’s sudden dash to New Delhi has given rise to curiosity among the political circles.
Yeddyurappa was in Shivamogga when he was summoned by top leadership of his party to New Delhi, it is said. He immediately reached Bengaluru and went to New Delhi on Tuesday morning. He however came back at night.
At the same time, continued presence of Congress legislators, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Nagendra and Mahesh Kamatalli at New Delhi has also given rise to curiosity among the people. It is said that their efforts to meet Amit Shah on Tuesday to discuss certain issues with him failed and hence they are staying there to make a fresh bid to meet the BJP national president on Wednesday.
Some sources claim that Ramesh Jarkiholi has already met BJP top brass and held discussions with them. BJP national executive meeting is being held shortly and major political developments are expected to take place thereafter.
