Mangaluru, Jan 8: As per recent reports, the response to Bharat Bandh in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts has been poor.
Private as well as government buses are seen moving on roads. Even auto rickshaws are seen plying. Earlier it was said that auto rickshaws would support the bandh.
Restaurants and shops are open as usual.
In short, the bandh is partially successful as schools and colleges are closed. Hence the movement of people is limited to some extent coupled with fear of untoward incidents.
There is better response for bandh in Kasargod district.
