Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 5: The income tax (IT) officials, who raided residences of leading Kannada film personalities on Thursday, continued with the same on Friday January 4. The IT officials had begun their raids at the residences of sandalwood stars, Puneeth Rajkumar, Shiva Rajkumar, Yash, and Sudeep. Film personalities, Rockline Venkatesh, Vijay Kiringadur and C R Manohar were also raided. The officials reportedly have recovered books of accounts, ledgers, huge amount of cash, gold etc during these raids.

Residences of some close relatives of these people were also raided, IT officials said.

In the meantime, fans of Shiva Rajkumar gathered opposite their icon's residence at Manyatha Techpark here on Friday and held protest against the IT raids. Sudeep had guessed on Thursday that the raids could be the fallout of the successes of recent movies, KGF, Natasarvabhouma, and Villain.

The film personalities raided by the department are known for acting in movies and producing hit movies. Sudeep, who has been hailed for his performances in certain movies and also was a host in Kannada reality show, Bigg Boss, also has been tremendously successful.

There is no problem in raiding these film personalities. But the question is why no raids on politicians and government babus as these guys accumulate wealth by unfair means. We know film fraternity has lot of money due to success of movies. But these politicians and babus???? So I consider these IT raids as biased. If you dare, you raid Reddy's, Yediyurappa etc.

Manana, yes why not Rahul, Sonia....you are right. Here I was referring only to Karnataka. When I mentioned politicians it covers everyone. Why no raids on Vadra? It is because he is very close to
Adani who is close to Modi.
