Udupi, Jan 5: “Karnataka state government and Udupi district administration will take all the possible steps to find ‘Suvarna Tribhuja’ fishing boat and seven fishermen who went for fishing in it twenty days ago,” said district in-charge minister Dr Jayamala.
In a press release on Friday, January 5, Dr Jayamala said that she informed and alerted police, coast guard and fisheries department immediately, asking to prepare task forces and conduct search operation in most systematic manner taking help from navy wherever necessary when she came to know that the boat that went missing.
“I have made sure that the search operations are conducted in Goa and Maharashtra limits besides in Karnataka. Preparations are made to take help from the army to prepare for the operations. Suitable approvals have been received in this connection,” she added.
“All the details about the missing boat and seven fishermen have been provided to the chief minister, deputy chief minister, home minister and the concerned. Taking the initiative, they are directing the operations. I have requested the home minister to come to Udupi for investigations and he will come on Saturday. We will be holding a meeting and prepare a blueprint for swift operations,” she said.
“I am confident that our efforts to bring back all the seven fishermen will be successful and we will be free from anxiety.” she concluded.
