Kundapur, Jan 4: Justice of Kundapur district and sessions court, Prakash Khanderi passed the judgement on Friday, January 4, that allegations against Moodubage Ampar resident Vighneshwara of allegedly taking advantage of a woman by making false promises of marriage, are proved.
The victim in her complaint to the police has stated that the accused, Vighneshwara had come to her on June 2, 2011 saying that his parents wanted to see her. He had thentaken her to his house at Moodubage, Ampar. He had physical relationship with her against her wish. He had also taken her to see Jog Falls on November 15 that year and raped her at a lodge at Sagar saying that he will marry her. But he later denied the allegations and refused to marry, stated the girl in her complaint.
The accused had obtained bail from court. The then police circle inspector of Kundapur, Diwaker P M had submitted a charge sheet to the court. Twelve witnesses were heard in the court.
Justice of additional district and sessions court declared that the allegations under IPC 417 and IPC 376 have been proved. District government prosecutor Prakashchandra Shetty Beloor argued regarding the sentence to the accused. As the advocate for the accused asked for time for arguments regarding the sentence, the court has fixed January 8 for the pronouncement of the verdict.
