Kasargod: Mob damages cars ferrying passengers from M'luru Intl airport, four held

Kasargod, Jan 3: A group of people supporting the hartal called today in the stare of Kerala stopped two cars carrying passengers from Mangaluru International airport at Karandakkad near here. The group damaged the cars. Police have arrested four persons in this connection.

In addition, incidents of stone throwing on the activists of CPM are reported from Battampare, Kelugudde and Nellikunje of the city. The glasses of the windows of the said houses are damaged in the attack.

A group of protesters who entered the house of Ashok, a resident of Battampare threatened the inmates of the house with dire consequences. In Kadambala of Badiadka near here, black oil was thrown on the office of DYFI.

Normal life was disrupted in the district and incidents of violence are reported from many places. Most of the schools were closed and the attendance in government offices was sparse.

More than 25 people are arrested by the police as a precautionary measure.

    Our country will never come forward just because of all these Hertals,strikes,govt.violations.Last few years it has become extreem.For everything strike.Other side,corruption too has deep roots.one against other. sad part in it is people who are not involved are suffering.

    Very sad that Harthals have now become violent. Kerala has seen more than 50 harthals last year, This year we are into the third day and already a Harthal. Hope there are no hartals which now days creates a loss of property life and money. I wish all problems in the world are solved through dialogues and not violence.

    It's their own tradition. And their own people are against that tradition; and are backed by Supreme Court verdict. Why the protests on the road? Why disturbing other common men? They want other people to suffer from their inner frustration. ?They want common man not to earn something for their family?
