Bangalore, Dec 18: Atul Rao, main accused in the Padmapriya case, has filed an interlocutory application seeking relaxation in bail conditions.
The court, while granting him bail on September 2, put forth some conditions, including mandatory appearance before the Manipal police every Sunday.
In his application, Atul said the chargesheet has been filed, investigation is over and he is regularly attending trial. If necessary, he is ready to appear before the CoD, the investigating agency.
Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri adjourned the hearing by two days.
Atul, key accused in the Padmapriya case, was granted bail on condition that he furnish Rs 1-lakh bond and two sureties of the same sum before the jurisdictional court.
The judge had also directed him to attend trial regularly, mark attendance every Sunday before the Manipal police, and cooperate with the CoD.
Padmapriya, wife of Udupi MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a New Delhi flat on June 15. An Udupi court had rejected Atul's bail plea on grounds that he faced threat to his life if released.
