Karkala, Dec 18: "Roads are completely damaged. It is impossible to drive two wheelers. The disturbance from 10-wheeler heavy vehicles is increasing day by day, which is creating chaos in the peaceful existence of the villagers," said the frustrated villagers of Kalya village of the taluk, who prevented the heavy vehicles from plying and expressed their rage through protest on Monday, December 17.
"There are a number of quarries in the villages of Kalya and Nandalike and the 10-wheeler vehicles, which carry the gravel from these quarries move rampantly throughout the day. Due to this the road is completely damaged and is not in the usable condition now. Concerned officials have to take corrective action," the villagers urged. They stopped a number of vehicles right from the morning and submitted a appeal to the concerned officers later in the day.
