Jerusalem, Dec 11: Israel has warned its nationals not to travel to Goa during the next two weeks, saying that the tourist hotspot is a "potential" terror target during the new year celebrations.
"The Goa region is a potentially tempting target for Islamic terror groups, particularly leading up to the New Year celebrations," Israel's Counter-Terrorism Bureau (CTB) said in a statement.
About 40,000 Israelis visit India every year and Goa is one of the most favoured destination for them, especially between Christmas and the New Year.
The "trance" music parties and "full moon" parties are particularlypopularamong youngIsraelis.
Six Israelis were killed in an attack on Nariman House in Mumbai last month but travel agencies here told PTI that it has had little affect on those planning trips to India.
