Hotel cook displays humanity, distributes free helmets to two-wheeler riders

Chikkaballapur, Dec 6: In a rare display of concern towards members of the society, a hotel cook distributed free helmets to two-wheeler riders through his own hard-earned money in the city.

Ramanna is the kind-hearted hotel employee who has displayed this exemplary act of showing concern to the riders of two-wheelers. He is working as a cook in different hotels of the city. Ramanna saw a bike rider injuring himself badly in an accident, in which the rider was not wearing the helmet. Ramanna was moved by this incident and decided to create awareness among the two-wheeler riders by distributing free helmets.

Ramanna distributed free helmets to riders, who were riding their two-wheelers without wearing a helemet at Shidlaghatta Circle in the city on Wednesday, December 6. In addition to the free helmet, he also offered a Rose and sweets and created awareness by asking the riders to wear helmets while riding the bike and save their lives.

Kartik Reddy, SP of the district, Anirudh, DC, Gurudath, chief executive officer of zilla panchayat and other officers joined the free helmet distribution of Ramanna. Bike riders also tried to grab the free helmet.

    What a waste. Somebody explain to him anyone buying a two wheeler which are all close to a lakh of rupees can easily afford a eight hundred rupees worth helmet. It is not because they can't just so they don't want to. They have blatant disregard for law, their lives and the grief they may cause their own and others families. Awareness is what is needed. Justly so the courts will now disallow any compensation if the riders are not following the laws and is proved in the courts by insurance companies.
