Dharwad, Dec 4: While admitting that there are certain legal hurdles now for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat asserted that construction of the temple is sure to happen.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, December 3, Bhat said that he does not want to speak about the case pending in courts. However, he felt that unless important issues are given preference, the faith of the people in the system gets eroded.
"We see that discussions happen even at night on the issue of executing death sentence awarded to Kasab. We are hurt at the realization that when it comes to Lord Rama, who the world needs the most, the expected importance is not being given," he lamented. He added that this is a question of the country's honour.
"There has been demand for building Ram Mandir at Ayodhya from every village. This struggle is several centuries old. The construction of temple dedicated to Lord Ram does not have anything to do with election. We have been carrying out the agitation for Ram Mandir since long. There are many Muslims who view Lord Ram with high esteem whereas leaders like Kapil Sibal urge the court to deliver verdict after the election. There are others who are willing to wear the sacred thread and apply 'Naama' for election, and claim themselves to be Hindus. They mention about Ram while speaking, but they do not know to which community they themselves belong to," he commented, in an apparent dig at Rahul Gandhi.
