Puttur, Dec 2: A state-level seminar on ‘Unique Search of Children’s Theatre’, was held at Vivekananda College on Sunday November 30. The event was organized by Nirata Niranta, the children’s drama school.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof H S Umesh, principal, Sharada Vilasa Education College, Mysore, said that education is a relief but in the modern age it has been reversed. Children are kept away from societal and cultural occasions, including theatre. According to our heritage, there is no place for children in the theatre, he said.
Street children demand their rights, but college students are unaware of the problems which violate their right, he said. Prof A V Narayana, president, managing committee, Vivekananda College, inaugurated the seminar.
Radhesh Tolpady, N Mangala, Dr Mahalinga, Dhananjay Mysore, Dr Prakash Garuda, and K G Krishnamurthy, presented their seminar on school, college and professional students’ plays in the theatre. I K Boluvar, theatre artiste, delivered the keynote address on the occasion. Mounesh Vishwakarma, journalist, proposed the vote of thanks.
