Bantwal, Jan 16: The installation and felicitation ceremony of the newly elected president of the Bantwal BJP Mandal was held at Sparsha Kala Mandira, B C Road.
The event was inaugurated by MP Capt Brijesh Chowta and Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippady. Addressing the gathering, MLA Rajesh Naik praised the BJP team in Bantwal for their dedication and efforts, which have resulted in success in cooperative sector elections. He urged party workers to accept every challenge as an opportunity and work cohesively towards future electoral victories.
He further shared his vision of grooming a young, fresh political leader as the next MLA from Bantwal, requesting support from party workers to realize this dream.
MP Capt Brijesh Chowta remarked that the newly appointed president, Chennappa R Kotian, has taken charge during a challenging period. He lauded the team's efforts in securing victories in major elections. Capt Chowta also criticized the current Congress-led state government, accusing it of corrupt practices and anti-constitutional governance.
He asserted that the BJP is poised to return to power in Karnataka, emphasizing the need for collective efforts from party workers. Highlighting developmental initiatives, he announced a Rs 5.27 crore grant from the central government for the development of roads in Polali, Kalladka, and Veerakamba, with the foundation stone to be laid on Jan 17.
MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur also addressed the gathering, expressing confidence in the BJP's unwavering commitment to national service. He called for the removal of the Congress government in Karnataka, accusing it of supporting anti-national elements.
Newly elected president Chennappa R Kotian expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and promised to strengthen the party with the support of all members.
The event also featured congratulatory messages from Zilla Panchayat president Satish Kumpala and other leaders, including Sulochana GK Bhat, Devappa Poojary, Appayya Maniyani, Premananda Shetty, Radhakrishna Alva, Pooja Pai, and Yathish Arwar.
The program included a welcome address by mandal secretary Shivaprasad Shetty, a vote of thanks by Sudarshan Baj, and compering by Rajesh Kottari Kalladka.
