Kundapur, Dec 1: A ‘Hindu Religious Awareness Conference’ was held at R N Shetty Auditorium of Bhandarkar’s College here on Sunday November 30. The conference was organized by the Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Sri Kalahastendra Saraswati Swami, Anegundi Jagadguru Maha Samstan, Katapady, said that the word ‘Hindu’ is considered communal in this Hindu heritage country and it is condemned. Hindu religion is a precious gift of saints and not born through the influence of any propagator, he said. It is as wide as the ocean and always endurable, stressed the Swamiji. The lack of knowledge in people makes them blindly follow western culture, he said.
Hindus must be determined towards religious progress, which leads to the path of happiness, said Vinayak Shanbhag, Sanatan Samste. Dr H V Narasimhamurty, managing trustee, Kundeshwara Temple, Kundapur, delivered a speech on centralized temple.
Ramesh Nayak Pelattoor, Dharmashakti Sene, and Karunakar Abhayankar, Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti, delivered the keynote address on the occasion. Vinod Kamat, Rama Shettigar, Raghuveer Nagarkar, Pradeep Sangam, and Satish M Nayak, were present.
Rajesh Udupa, chief, Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti, submitted the report. Kavita Shenoy and Rohini, ‘Sanatana Prabhata’ newspaper, explained the purpose of the programme. The programme concluded with the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’.
