Bengaluru, Dec 2: In a tragic incident that is reported from Rajarajeshwari Nagar in the city on the morning of Saturday, a doctor killed his mother and sister by giving them insulin overdose and then tried to kill himself by injecting the same to self.
Mookambika (76) and Shyamala (46), daughter of Mookambika, natives of Dakshina Kannada district are the unfortunate victims who lost their lives in this incident. Govindaprakash is the doctor who killed both Mookambika and Shyamala. He is in a critical condition and is being treated in ICU of a private hospital in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

A deathnote is found on the spot of the crime and it is mentioned that they are committing suicide for personal reasons. All the three have signed the deathnote. R R Nagar police have registered a case against Govindprakash for murder and attempt to suicide as per the complaint given by Subraya Bhat, husband of deceased Mookambika.
On the night of Friday, Govindprakash gave the Insulin overdoes to his mother and sister and then tried to kill himself by injecting the same to self. When Subraya Bhat went to the room of his daughter, the incident has come to light. Subraya Bhat is a native of Kedila village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. He is a retired teacher and lives in Ideal Homes near Munivekataiah Memorial Open Auditorium of R R Nagar since 2002. His wife Mookambika is a housewife and daughter Shyamala was a lawyer by profession. The accused son of Subraya Bhat, Govindprakash is a diabetologist.
Mental depression is the cause
Govindprakash was running a private clinic at Hampinagar of Vijaynagar in the city. In addition, he used to work in shifts in two prestigious private hospitals of the city. However, two months ago he had closed the clinic and brought all the equipments to his house. From that time, Govindprakash was at home only. He was under treatment for severe headache since ten years.
Shyamala, sister of Govindprakash got married in 1994 and was divorced within two years. So she was residing in her parents' home and working as a lawyer. A few months ago preparations were going on for her second marriage but somehow the alliance got broken at the last minute. Mookambika, mother of Govindprakash was also getting treated for severe headache. It is said that Mookambika was depressed as her son Govindprakash also did not get married and life of her daughter Shyamala was also disturbed.
Attempted to kill self twice
Mookambika, Shyamala and Govindprakash, who were suffering from ill health as well as mental depression, tried to kill themselves on two occasions in the last three years. This information was obtained by the police during the primary investigation.
