Mangaluru, Dec 2: The College Day of St Agnes PU College was held on Saturday, December 1 at the college ground.
Member of Karnataka State Public Service Commission Dr Ronald Anil Fernandes was the chief guest. Joint secretary of St Agnes Institution Sr Dr Maria Roopa along with the other dignitaries was accorded grand welcome through guard of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Ronald Anil Fernandes said, "This is the golden era of your life in making the best use of the ability to reach your goal. You have two options, enjoy your remaining academic days and later regret or work hard and later enjoy throughout your life.”
Meanwhile, the meritorious students, sports achievers, best outgoing students as well as the toppers in the PU board exam of 2017-18 were felicitated.
Principal Sr Shamitha A C welcomed the gathering. The formal programme was compered by Dr P V Shobha and vice principal Sr Norine rendered vote of thanks.
PTA vice president Valentina Rodrigues was also present.
Soon after the formal function, cultural programme was held which showcased the multifaceted talents of the students. A Hindi tableau on ‘darkness to light’ and an English play, ‘a satire on sycophancy’ was performed with vibrant dance forms various regions of the country. The programme came to close depicting the glory of Tulunadu through the culture of the various communities native to Dakshina Kannada.
The cultural programme was compered by Mansi and Ashel.
