Panaji, Dec 2: Vishwajit Rane, health minister of the state of Goa has made it clear that till the fish merchants and transporters from outstation states follow the instructions of Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the ban on the import of outside states into Goa will not be lifted.
Clarifying the issue, Rane said, "The order passed by the government of Goa is not the ban that is imposed on the import of fish from other states. This action is taken keeping in mind the health of the people of Goa.
“I have received the letter written by H D Kumaraswamy, chief minister of Karnataka. But the ban that is imposed on the import of fish from outside states will continue,” he added.
