Mangaluru, Nov 28: Karnataka Bank opened its 825th branch in the country at Gandhi Nagar, Kavoor, here on Wednesday November 28.
J Arun Chakravarthi, Inspector General of Police (IPS), western range, inaugurated the branch by cutting the ribbon while Shri Dharmapalanatha Swamiji, seer Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, Pavoor, inaugurated the cash recycler of the branch.
Mahabaleshwar M S, CEO and managing director, Karnataka Bank presided over the stage programme which was held after the formal inauguration. Raghuram Bhat, general manager, Karnataka Bank, Ramesh Bhat, assistant general manager, Sukanya, branch manager were present on the dais.
Congratulating the bank management, staff and locals of Kavoor, IG said, "It is our pride to inaugurate a branch of Karnataka Bank, because it is the bank of our state. Wherever we go in India, we see an ATM or branch office of Karnataka Bank. People across the country have already accepted the service of this bank. The credit goes to the management and its staff. So, on behalf of the customers, I congratulate the management and staff for their new branch."
In his inaugural speech, Dharmapalanatha Swamiji said, "Through its service and commitment Karnataka Bank won the hearts of customers across the country. Satisfied customers are a big asset to the bank and as per my knowledge it helped Karnataka Bank to expand its branches. Owning more than 800 branches is not a simple thing. A great vision and large workforce is behind this. It can be achieved only by continuous connection and contact with customers.
"We all know we cannot store a large amount of money in our houses. Banks are suitable places to store it. It is my advise that Karnataka Bank is the best bank for depositing money and dealing with any type of financial matter. In this joyful moment I congratulate the management of Karnataka Bank and the staff of the new branch. It will definitely play a major role in financial matters of the people of Kavoor and the surrounding areas."
In his presidential speech Mahabaleshwar M S said, "Today, our annual turnover has reached rupees one lac fifteen thousand crore. We have 1 crore customers across the country. Today we are inaugurating three branches including Kavoor branch. By this year end the number of branches will reach 830. We are targeting 1000 branches within the next five years. We have completed 94 years of our existence, but we have not faced any type of loss in our financial years. Professional management and committed employees helped us in our growth. Now, the entire world operates on technology. We have also adopted technology in our operations and our clients have welcomed this wholeheartedly. The implementation of modern technology will continue as per the requirements of our clients. We function on the concept of financial freedom which was dreamt of by Gandhiji. He fought for free India and free life from poverty."
Ramesh Bhat, assistant general manager introduced the guests and welcomed the gathering. Sukanya, rendered the vote of thanks.
